SWTOR Nar Shaddaa Nightlife Event 2022 Guide - VULKK.com

BioWare brings back the Summer gambling event called Nar Shaddaa Nightlife to SWTOR every year. The 2022 event runs from August 2nd until September 13th. This guide will show you how to participate and what you can earn from the event!

The Nar Shaddaa Nightlife is a time-limited yearly event in Star Wars: The Old Republic. In Summer of 2022 it is live from August 2nd until September 13th and will allow you to participate in various missions and gamble with in-game currency on virtual slots to win in-game prizes.

In 2020, the event expanded its territories, and in 2021 it became available on Mek-Sha as well.

The starter missions are the same (explained and shown in detail below). There are several new missions, rewarding you with casino chips, credits and XP.

Nightlife 2022 offers a new set of purple and gold Karagga the Hutt-themed weapons that you can win from the Emperor’s Grace slot machine.

There are two intro cinematics that you can watch on the Fleet – one for Republic, one for Empire. In the two clips below you can see them.

To participate in the event, you are not required to watch the cinematics from the Fleet terminals, you can simply travel to Nar Shaddaa’s casinos.

The intro mission for both factions is called “Nar Shaddaa Nightlife” and it gives you a small head-start by providing you with 5 Smuggler’s Casino Chips (read below what these are)..

To complete this mission you have to go to the Event Vendors, who are located at the far end of the casino on Nar Shaddaa. As soon as you approach them, the mission will auto-complete.

The event is originally hosted on Nar Shaddaa – the Club Vertica Casino for the Republic players and the Star Cluster Casino for the Empire citizens. The new location on Mek-Sha is in the Bazaar, located in the Three Points zone.

You can use your personal starship to travel to Nar Shaddaa. From there head to the Lower Promenade. From there you will be able to go to the Club Vertical Casino if you are a Republic player.

You can use your personal starship to travel to Nar Shaddaa. From there head to the Lower Promenade. From there you will be able to go to the Star Cluster Casino if you are an Empire player.

The new location on Mek-Sha, added in 2020, is in The Bazaar, in the Three Points zone. Mek-Sha was released with the Onslaught 6.0 expansion in Fall of 2019, so it’s understandable why it wasn’t available the previous years.

Below is a map of the zone and the exact location of The Bazaar and the Slot Machines.

New as of 2022, you can access special higher tier (and more expensive) slot machines on the Fleets. Travel to the VIP floor to see them. I have a dedicated section below in this guide detailing these new machines and what you can earn from them.

During the SWTOR Nightlife event you can play on three different types of slot machines spread all around in the casinos in clusters, based on their type and chips required to play:

To play on the slots you will need chips, just like in a real-life casino. You can purchase them from the Casino Cashier droids, available on the casino floor. You also get them as loot while you play the game.

Smuggler’s Casino Chip Costs 2k Credits, used on Green slots

Kingpin’s Casino Chip Costs 100k Credits, used on Purple slots

Emperor’s Casino Chip Costs 7.5 mill Credits, used on Emperor’s Grace slot

For Nightlife 2022 BioWare added three new chips for the three newly released slot machines. I have detailed the machines and how to get to them in another section of this guide.

Here I’ll just list the new chips (which you can purchase for credits or lesser tier chips from the Cashier Vendors in the VIP sections of the Fleets:

Max Bet Smuggler’s Casino Chip Costs 100k Credits or 20 Smuggler’s Casino Chips, used on Green slots

Max Bet Kingpin’s Casino Chip Costs 2 mill Credits or 20 Kingpin’s Casino Chips , used on Purple slots

Max Bet Emperor’s Casino Chip Costs 150 mill Credits, used on Emperor’s Grace slot

Note that the regular cashier droids will continue to sell only the regular green, blue and purple chips if you don’t have VIP access.

There is a global cooldown of 5 seconds before you can play on the same slot and 1.5 seconds before you can play a chip on any slot. This means that you can play on at least two Green slots at once, saving yourself the wait (if you have enough chips, of course).

Stand between the machines, this way you will be able to click quickly and get more results for your time spent in the casino.

Smuggler’s Luck is the name of the slot machines decorated in green colors. When you play on these slots, you have a 50% chance to get your chip back and about 10% to receive the “Feeling Lucky” buff. This buff lasts for two minutes and can be used to enhance your chances to win items while you play on the Purple slots.

The increased chances are actually very small percentages. You can also get a Golden Certificate from the Green slots (more on these later), but the chance of that happening is less than 1%. Golden Cerfiticates are used to trade for various items offered by the vendors in the casinos.

In a very rare case, the machine might explode in your face, which is another way for you to lose your chip. This will, however, grant you a special achievement called “Quality Assurance”.

The most valuable reward, however, is probably the Kingpin Chip – you have about 5% chance to get it from the Green slots. Playing the Green slots for Kingpin Chips is arguably the cheapest way (but most time-consuming!) to earn Kingpin Chips for the Purple slots.

The purple slots are called “Kingpin’s Bounty. On them, you can earn some very rare rewards.

Similar to the Green slots, here you also have 50% chance to receive your Kingpin token back. The Golden Certificate here will drop a bit more often than on the Green slots. Once again the machine can explode in your face, but this would be a very (very!) rare occasion.

The Emperor’s Grace Slots are the machine with a giant statue of a Hutt next to it. They were added with the Nightlife 2020 event.

To play on these machines, you will need Emperor’s Casino Chip. These are quite rare. You can get them a guaranteed reward for completing the Dubious Odds mission while the event is live or purchase them from the cashier droids. They also drop from defeating bosses in group content. I have a full event missions overview and walkthroughs below.

In 2022 BioWare added three new slot machines, located in the VIP sectors of the Fleets:

These require new chips to play on them. The chips are available for purchase on the nearby vendors (cashier droids). The prices may shock some of you.

You can get these new chips either with credits (lots and lots of credits) or with a number of chips from the lesser tier of the same type of slot machine.

Similar to other machines, you can win Chips, Tokens, Golden Certificates, mini-pets, mounts, and other items! With the Max Bet Emperor’s Grace machines, you also have a chance to win the new rewards available from this year, like the High Roller Weapons, the Lucky Pritarr Mount, or mini-pets!

To gain access to the VIP section on the Fleet, you must either own the Collector’s Edition of SWTOR, the Digital Deluxe version of the game, or purchase the VIP Lunge Wristband for 1 mill credits from a cantina vendor.

There are a few missions you can pick up and complete as part of the SWTOR Nightlife event in 2022. The most interesting one is called “Counterfeit Tokens: Mek-Sha“. It will introduce you to the Nightlife on Mek-Sha.

After you arrive to the Nar Shaddaa casino, you should open your map and take a brief look around. Find the orange triangle markers that point out to the available missions around and pick them all up.

The place to start is the “Advertisement Terminal“. There are a few available around, all offering the same missions.

Missions available at the Entertainment Terminal (shown on the image below):

Completing these missions will reward you with chips that you can use on the Slots and some additional credits.

The Dubious Odds mission is a small chain of mini missions. Talk to the Pit Boss (has a quest marker above its head). He will grant these missions to you one after another.

Be sure to pick up Dubious Odds before talking to the Pit Boss NPC.

Completing the Dubious Odds mission will grant you one Emperor’s Grace chip. The rewards from this special machine are also randomized, but more often than not you win 50 Kingpin Tokens

The final two missions are the “Counterfeit Tokens” missions – one for Nar Shaddaa and one for Mek-Sha.

The whole pack of missions can be done in a few minutes, provided all of the informants show up. The one on Nar Shaddaa for Empire side had a habit of disappearing last year.

Completing the Counterfeit Tokens missions will also place a buff on your character. Its effect depends on the choice you made in the last conversation during this mission:

The buff remains active until a Kingpin’s Bounty win or until you depart from the planet.

In case you struggle to find an item, an NPC or anything you need to complete one of the few special missions exclusively available during the Nightlife event, check the walkthroughs I have below.

To complete this Repeatable (!) mission, you will need to complete a small chain of quick and easy to do small missions. Here’s the list:

To start, speak to the Pit Boss NPC, who is located right next to the Advertisement Terminal, from which you picked up this mission.

The NPC will ask you if you want a free spin at the Kingpin’s Bounty machines – well, if you are doing the mission, you obviously want that!

Now you should have the Fair Play Enforcer mission. To complete it, use the special ability next to your mission in the tracker to scan and mark the required targets.

The Sabacc tables are near the entrance of the casino. Scan each green ring until you find the NPC that is designated to be the cheater.

Return to the Pit Boss NPC to complete the mission. Speak to it again to get the next one – Boss Said Knock You Out .

For this one you have to find and remove five problematic customers. You get a new ability for this. It’s located in the “special ability floating bar” and will become active when you approach any of the following NPCs:

Some of them will run away when you target them and click on the special ability, others will aggro on you.

When done, go back to the Pit Boss NPC. Complete the mission and speak to the NPC to pick up the next one – Data Driven Services .

To complete this one you will have to approach a number of Gullible Patrons, Affable Clientele and Tough Customers NPCs. You need to use three times each of the newly added special abilities on these NPCs to “convince” them. The special abilities you have are:

Each of these three abilities works only on one type of NPC and I have listed them above to hopefully help you save yourself some time.

Once you are done, return to the Pit Boss to finish the mission and get the next in line. The conversation you will have with the NPC gives you a choice – help on Nar Shaddaa or help on Mek-Sha.

Based on your decision, this will determine which of the two daily missions you get next – Complete Counterfeit Tokens: Mek-Sha or Complete Counterfeit Tokens: Nar Shaddaa-Sha. Don’t worry, you can speak with the NPC right away again and pick up the other one.

For Counterfeit Tokens: Nar Shaddaa go to the Lower Promenade. There you will find an NPC called Sly Informant. Approach and talk to him.

Now go to the Upper Promenade and take the taxi to the Corellian Sector (or teleport directly there). Get to this spot on the map:

Speak to the Dire Skull Circuit Leader . You have a reply choice to make in the conversation with this NPC.

For Counterfeit Tokens: Mek-Sha you need to travel to the western end of The Red Zone area on Mek-Sha. Similarly to the Nar Shaddaa mission, you will find a Sly Informant NPC there, Talk to him.

He will send you to the next location you need to check. Go to the Scrap Pit, which is to the south from your current location, still in The Red Zone area.

Down in the pit you will find the Dire Skull Circuit Leader standing next to a pile crates labeled “Suspicious Stash”.

You have similar choices to make in this conversation and based on your selections in the cutscene, a unique timed buff will be applied when you complete the mission. I listed the buffs’ descriptions above in the short mission overview, but there they are again, for your convenience:

The buff you get lasts for up to 10 minutes. It will disappear if you win from a Kingpin’s Bounty slot or leave the planet. The buff’s description states it lasts for five minutes, but the timer above it shows ten and the actual duration is ten. This typo was present in last year’s edition of the event as well.

The rewards from the mission include:

Each of the small missions from this chain will reward you 5x Smuggler’s Casino Chips, Light/Dark Side Points, and Credits.

If you don’t encounter any weird bugs or have to fight for spawns with other players, you can complete Dubious Odds in about ten minutes. Having all quick travel locations on Nar Shaddaa and Mek-Sha do help as well.

To complete this mission, approach a Gullible Patron NPC and click on the special ability next to the mission in your Tracker.

Next stand on the Dance Floor and click on it.

Finally, approach a Mic Stand and click on it.

This will complete the mission. Its rewards include:

This one is pretty straight-forward. Approach any of the slot machines and play them. You need to play ten times on any machine to complete this mission.

The rewards for it include:

The event offers three types of rewards – earned by playing the slots, purchased from the vendors and achievements. Below you will find more information and images/videos for all of them.

There are three vendors available. They are present at the same time on Nar Shaddaa and Mek-Sha.

All of them are willing to trade old and some new rewards for your Golden Certificates (earned from playing the Slots). Below I have a full list of each vendor’s offerings and a few images highlighting some of the items.

The vendors have different names for Republic and Empire sides, but the items are identical, and prices too.

Note: There are no new items offered by the vendors for 2022. They have the same contents and same prices for each item as last year.

Below are a few images previewing the most interesting items:

Missing Elara’s Customization. If you have it, please send me an image.

Kingpin’s Grigna Mount This mount costs 30 Golden Certificates and is available at Jah’rr Bahreegz / Elzza Byssun vendor. It can increase your movement speed up to 130%.

Floor Trap – Blast and Floor Trap – Frost These decorations cost 2 Golden Certificates each and are available at Jah’rr Bahreegz / Elzza Byssun vendor. They can be placed in Strongholds and you can own up to 50 of each.

There are different rewards from each of the slot machines. Below you will find out what you can win and where.

As I said above, in addition to these rewards you could also lose your chip and win nothing, which happens in roughly one of each three plays. You could also see the machine blow up in your face, which is a more spectacular way to lose your chip with some visual effects on the side.

On top of the increased chance to get a Golden Certificate, a blue chip to play again or in some extremely rare situations – destroy the machine, you can win some of the previous years’ rewards, listed below.

You also have a very small chance to get one of the new Emperor’s Grace Slots chips, that can be used on the new machine next to the Hutt statue.

Vectron BWL Wraith Mount This mount is still available from previous years, if you are lucky enough to win it from the Kingpin slots and the Emperor’s Grace machines. You cannot purchase this item, you can only win it. Good luck!

Phrojo Nuray “Mercenary of the Stars” companion This companion is available only as a “win” from a Kingpin slots or Emperor’s Grace machine. It cannot be purchased. Your chances to get him to drop is extremely low.

Here is a short list of the various types of items and other things you can get as a result of playing on the Emperor’s Grace Machine:

In an extremely rare case you could also destroy the machine, which is equivalent to losing the draw and your chip, of course.

The little mini pet droid C1-4W will follow you everywhere and… will look cute. As a mini-pet, this little droid has no impact on your combat performance, but it makes fun sounds. This item was first added in the 2021 edition of the event. It is still available as a reward from the slots.

The High Roller Shades is an orange armor shell and takes up the head slot of your character. It has a unique effect – changes color – when you enter combat. This item also debuted in 2021 and is still available from these slots. It was not added to the vendors.

You can win gold and purple weapons new mount and a few new mini pets from the Emperor’s Grace machine or the VIP equivalent of the same machines.

These items are available as lucky drops from the Emperor’s Grace slots as well as the new higher tier Emperor’s Grace Max Bet slots available in the VIP sections of the casinos and on the VIP section of the Fleet.

* The Night Owl is repeated because there are two different achievements under the same name.

This is my SWTOR Nightlife Event 2022 guide. I hope you found it useful and it helped you get a better understanding of how the event works, how to participate and how to increase your chances of earning some of the special rewards from the slot machines.

If you find a new achievement or earn a new item from the event, please let me know so I can update the guide and include it. Thank you!
