Til the End of Time Animal Sanctuary will hold a Yard Sale and Mini-Flea Market on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. This event will be held indoors, rain or shine. Location is 260 Phelps Branch Road, off Police Tower Road, or Route 26. Lots of stuff to sell. This event is open to the public and all proceeds raised will go toward Til the End of Time Animal Sanctuary.
Krokbragd Weaving Workshop at Holiday Lake 4-H
The Krokbragd Weaving Workshop in Appomattox has been rescheduled to April 1-4 at the Holiday Lake 4-H Educational Cente located at 267 4-H Camp Road, Appomattox. Learn to weave, or advance existing skills with this Krokbragd workshop. Krokbragd is a heavy fabric, used for rugs, pillows, bags, and table mats. It involves a simple warp, and a lot of color play. Traditional motifs have multiple jagged lines, as in the photo with the navy background. However, a wide variety of motifs can be designed.Participants will make coasters, fabric to sew along with commercial fabric for a bag or pillow, or placemats. Sewing will be done at home. Krokbragd will be taught on 4-shaft and 8-shaft looms. Rigid heddle and beginning weavers can weave a simpler placemat.Begin with a naked loom, and learn to dress the loom for weaving. Shaft looms available for rental or sale after class, if desired. Small class size, for teens and adults. Workshop fee is $450, which includes all meals and rustic lodging. Heart of Virginia Beekeepers meeting
The Heart of Virginia Beekeepers will meet Tuesday, April 5, at 7 p.m. at the Prince Edward County Extension Office next to Lowe’s at 100 Dominion Drive, Farmville. The topic will be How to Install Package Bees. Anyone who has bees or is interested in bees is welcome. GED Outreach at Jamerson Library
GED Outreach at the Jamerson Memorial Library, located on Main Street in Appomattox from 2 to 4 p.m. Debra Emmett from the Adult Learning Center will be at the library to answer questions and help people sign-up for classes to earn their GED.
Preschool Story & Craft Time at Jamerson Library
Preschool Story & Craft Time will be held at the J. Robert Jamerson Memorial Library at 11 a.m. and noon. The library will feature an age-appropriate book followed by a simple craft project and snacks. Everyone is welcome to attend with the understanding that this program is for preschool patrons.
Feeding Appomattox is hosting a basketball tournament on April 9 at Memorial United Methodist Church. Cost is $10 per player. Games will be single elimination, 5-on-5. Easter Bunny at Appomattox Farmers Market
The Easter Bunny will be stopping the Appomattox Farmers Market for free pictures on April 9 from 10 am. to noon. Bring a camera or have a phone ready to snap some pictures with the Easter Bunny. The Appomattox Farmers Market located at 180 Old Courthouse Roadd, Appomattox.
