Sunburg: Sept. 5, 13th annual Labor Day Trolls Classic Car Show, 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Community Center grounds. Spectators free; food, crafts and homemade items for sale; no dogs or bikes.

Lac qui Parle County Fair: Sept. 8-11, fairgrounds in Madison, lqpfair.com.

Horse Power Event: Sept. 10, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Swensson Farm Museum, six miles east of Montevideo on state Highway 7, then five miles south on County Road 6 to the junction with County Road 15. Horse-drawn demonstrations including plowing, cultivating, mowing, potato digging, raking and more. Inside the family home, demonstrations of making lefse, butter, ice cream and bread. Additional artisans may include wheat weaving, spinning wheel, crocheting, rug making and more. Inside the barn and throughout the grounds, additional activities and displays are featured. Admission charged, free parking.

Prairie Pothole Day: Sept. 10, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Stoney Ridge Farm, south of the intersection of U.S. Highway 71 and state Highway 9. Outdoor celebration includes dog trials, black powder shoot, archery competition, slough scoot, walk in the woods, kids’ activities, food, raffle, duck calling contest, goose calling contest and more.

Atwater Threshing Day: Sept. 10-11, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., site on the east side of Atwater, admission charged. Music, threshing, corn shelling and more featuring hot air engines, vintage cookie jars and a special display of Ford Model T conversions and equipment.

WILLMAR — The annual Mayor’s Bike Ride, led by the mayors of Spicer, New London and Willmar, will begin at 5 p.m. Sept. 16. The three groups will meet at Goat Ridge Brewing in New London for a picnic. The ride and picnic are free, but participants need to register in advance by calling 320-235-3552 or emailing info@willmarlakesarea.com . The rides will leave at 5 p.m. from the city parking lot across from the American Legion in New London, the Glacial Lakes State Trail parking lot across from Mel’s Sport Shop in Spicer and the Glacial Lakes State Trail parking lot next to the Willmar Civic Center. You can join the Willmar group at 5:15 p.m. at the Glacial Lakes State Trail parking lot at County Road 26.

WILLMAR — The last Community Wall Art Project will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, at Woodland Centers on Willmar Avenue. Come and paint by number. All ages and abilities are welcome.

Pajama-rama storytime: Sept. 27, 6:30 p.m. Come in your pajamas, bring a blanket and listen to stories. Milk and cookies afterward before you head home to bed.

Teen take-and-make: Aug. 15 opened for ice cream keychain, Sept. 12 opens for flower pen and Sept. 26 opens for velvet pumpkin. For ages 12-18, limit one per person as supplies are limited. Sign up on the library website.

Teen lit loot: Sign up and you will receive a library book based on your interests and a bag of goodies to go with it. One per month and will need to re-register each month. September’s theme is Harry Potter.

Makerspace Equipment: Cricut, Dremel Stylo, button maker, jewelry stamping and sewing machine, equipment must be used in the library and consumable materials are not supplied. Makerspace users must agree to the Makerspace Policy and complete training on safety and equipment use. Make reservations on the library’s website under adult services. .

Rice Park: Splash pad and changing rooms, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, 805 Third St. S.W. Open Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Grind Central Skate Park: Open during daylight hours, Swansson Fields; southwest Willmar.

Archery Park: Open during daylight hours, located on 19th Avenue Southeast across from Walmart. Seven shooting lanes ranging from 10 to 70 yards. For all ages but children under 15 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
